36 CRAZYFISTS NAME ‘REVIVER’ FIRST SINGLE ON ‘COLLISIONS AND CASTAWAYS’ HEAR ‘REVIVER’ NOW ON SIRIUS XM LIQUID METAL ‘COLLISIONS AND CASTAWAYS’ HITS STORES JULY 27TH

Alaskan metallers 36 CRAZYFISTS are pleased to name their first single from their new Ferret Music release, ‘Collisions And Castaways’, poised for release on July 27th of this year. The track will be available for purchase digitally starting today, across all digital providers, including iTunes. Click the iTunes link to download the track! ‘Reviver’ has begun airing on Sirius XM Liquid Metal this week, and one listen is sure to bring back memories of 36 CRAZYFISTS tracks of the past, as well as turn the heads of new fans. Head over to the 36 CRAZYFISTS MySpace to listen to ‘Reviver’ now! 36 CRAZYFISTS is offering a pre-order of ‘Collisions And Castaways’, available here. The pre-order packages include your choice of an individual CD, a CD + exclusive pre-order shirt, or a CD + pre-order shirt and flag. All packages will include a signed booklet, only while supplies last. ‘Collisions And Castaways’ is a fierce, dark, crushing collection of eleven tracks that rip from the speaker like a runaway train. Arguably the band’s heaviest effort to date, it also happens to be a melodic affair and the kind of record 36 CRAZYFISTS and vocalist Brock Lindow have wanted to write ten years ago. “If this was the end of the band, this record is exactly what I wanted our band to do at one time,” states Lindow. “Maybe a lot of people will think we’re just metalcore, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a heavy record with some big choruses and everything we’ve been about for a long time with a cool metal feel to it that I’ve been wanting.” 36 CRAZYFISTS will be touring for much of the rest of the year and hope to launch their first headlining tour during this upcoming record cycle. Fans will be able to witness 36 CRAZYFISTS in two weeks when they hit the road with FEAR FACTORY and more! See below for all current tour dates:

Last Rites Gallery presents Jason D’Aquino and Lead Poisoning

Guest curator Jason D’Aquino and Last Rites Gallery owner, Paul Booth, are two artists who are perhaps best known for their artwork in black & gray. For ‘Lead Poisoning’ they team up to present a show of gray-scale drawings by some of the most talented artists working today. This diverse group features everyone from comic book illustrators, to graphic artists, to classical oil painters- all showcasing their best monochromatic works in graphite. This exhibition presents detailed drawings by acclaimed draftsmen, as well a rare opportunity to see the foundations of what renowned painters and sculptors work from. Among the talent is Juxtapoz Magazine founder Robert Williams, considered one of the founders of the ‘Lowbrow’ movement; Ron English, who’s infamous pirated billboards can be seen across the world; and Chris Mars, known for his meticulously layered oil paintings. Held in New York’s premiere dark art gallery, Last Rites- this is show will be an opportunity for artists to reach within the darkest realms of their imaginations, and display their most raw and uncensored work to-date. Participating artists include: Wayne Anderson, Esao Andrews, Carrie Ann Baade, Glenn Barr, Rachel Bess, Andrew Brandou, Scott G. Brooks, Jon Butcher, Estra Byrd, Molly Crabapple, Robert Craig, Brian Despain, Daniel Martin Diaz, Xiaoqing Ding, Brandon Dunlap, Ron English, Ewelina Ferruso, Fred Harper, Pedro de Kastro, Viktor Koen, Craig LaRotonda, Jason Limon, Michael Mararian, Chris Mars, David MacDowell, Tara McPherson, the PIZZ, Matthew Pleva, Anthony Pontius, Christopher Ryniak, Jose Manuel Schmill, Greg (Craola) Simkins, David Stoupakis, Gary Taxali, Tom Thewes, Miles Thompson, Tara Warwick, Keith Weesner, Eric White and Chet Zar.

Running concurrently at Last Rites, to Jason D’Aquino‘s ‘Lead Poisoning’ curatorial debut, will be his third solo show in Manhattan. Jason’s work is miniature in scale and created on antique surfaces and found objects. The nature and origin of the surface will often dictate, and interact with the image rendered upon it, and no surfaces are ever artificially aged. The matchbook is his canvas of choice because this easily recognizable object lends an instant scale reference to the drawing, regardless of the media in which it is being viewed . Jason’s matchbooks and original graphite drawings have been exhibited all over the U.S., and recently at his first European solo show in Luxembourg at Galerie Nordine Zidoun. His work has been extensively published by media including The New York Times, Juxtapoz, and Hi Fructose Magazine. He will be featured in the Bound edition of ‘Hi Fructose Collected’ & Matt Jordan’s ‘Weirdo Noir’; and his Circus ABC book (recently published by simply read books) will be available for signing at the Last Rites gallery opening. His tattoo work can be seen everywhere, and he can be found personally at his studio, Leviathan Tattoo, in Buffalo NY. About Last Rites Gallery: Last Rites Gallery is New York’s only gallery of dark art. Having opened in April 2008, the gallery has received accolades from places as diverse as Inked Magazine, Tattoo Society, Juxtapoz, Hi Fructose, NY Post, and the Channel 11 Morning News. Last Rites was founded by legendary painter and tattooist Paul Booth, an artist who has devoted his life to the evolution of his craft. In the tattoo industry, after years of public appearances and numerous international awards, Paul Booth is now a household name. He has been featured on networks such as CNN, MSNBC, DISCOVERY, A&E, TLC, MTV and VH1. Due to the macabre nature of his style, Paul has tattooed many major metal bands. As a result, in 2002, Rolling Stone Magazine dubbed Paul “The new king of rock tattoos.” There is currently a three-year waiting list for his work.

The show opens on Saturday, July 10th, 7-10pm at Last Rites Gallery, 511 W. 33rd Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues (3 blocks from Penn Station), 3rd floor, New York, NY 10001. Show runs July 10th thru July 25th, 2010.

Giardini Naxos mid swell

GIARDINI NAXOS MID SWELL

10/04/2010

Quindi arrivederci a settembre Giardini adorata!

Baroness a Luglio

Quindi, affrettatevi!

COLOSSUS TO HEADLINE ‘FLAWLESS VICTORY’ TOUR THIS SUMMER IN SUPPORT OF DRUNK ON BLOOD EP

In their early careers, members of COLOSSUS were in several formidable punk rock acts, but thankfully came to their senses and embraced their irrepressible youthful metal roots. Now, armed with guitars and beer they are storming across the tundra of central North Carolina to conquer the world. COLOSSUS is setting out on the road on July 8th, and will continue through July until the 24th. Raleigh, North Carolina’s COLOSSUS sound as if they were actually taking part in the original NWOBHM scene alongside Saxon, Diamond Head, Iron Maiden and Angel Witch in 1982, but cosmically slipped through a wormhole, winding up in 2010. Their new Tribunal Records EP, ‘Drunk On Blood’, spiritedly follows on the heels of their debut album, ‘And The Rift Of The Pan-Dimensional Under-Gods’, and only further expands on their love of classic heavy metal, fantasy, folklore, zombies, science fiction and ultimately laying waste to any and all who catch their enthusiastic and sweat-filled live shows. ‘Drunk On Blood’ is for people who like to party and remember what it was like to make music for fun. When listening to ‘Drunk On Blood’ your knobs most definitely should be cranked to 11.

PARKWAY DRIVE
‘Deep Blue’-CD
(Resist/Epitaph)

CHEMICAL BROTHERS
‘Further’-CD
(Virgin)

LACTIS FEVER
‘The Season We Met’-CD
(Tubular)

RISE FROM THE AGONY
‘Shadows And Ghosts’-CD
(Epidemic/Pitfall)

Promossi.

Blood For Blood…reunion

Posted by Salad Days On June - 22 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Blood For Blood are reuniting and heading out on tour after 6 years. An official statement from the band.

“First off, we would like to thank all our fans for hanging in there over the last six long years. As of December 2010 Blood For Blood will embark on our first tour since 2004. Blood for Blood has agreed to join the Persistence Tour in Europe sharing a stage with long time friends Sick of it All as well as other acts soon to be announced. The decision to play again was not an easy one to make. Over the last few years we have tried time and time again to contact Rob about a possible Blood For Blood reunion, but he has ignored every single attempt we have made. Therefore, we were left with no other choice but to find someone else to fill in for his BFB responsibilities. Now, let’s make this perfectly clear: we have no ill will towards Rob whatsoever. We wish him well and Blood For Blood will always be open to him.
That being said, we were left with the conundrum of finding a fill-in for Rob. After some careful thought we believe we found a perfect fill-in. We are pleased to announce that Billy Graziadei of Biohazard will be joining Blood For Blood on stage for Persistence Tour 2010. Again thanks for all the countless emails and support letters from all our fans over the years. We are looking forward to seeing all your ugly faces again”.
BLOOD FOR BLOOD

About Blood For Blood:

If the ghost of Johnny Cash was to unexpectedly rise out of its tomb and supernaturally resurrect its musical soul in the form of a hardcore band, the result would be an anthemic, outlaw punch not unlike Boston’s favorite white trash hardcore hooligans, BLOOD FOR BLOOD. While Cash grew up as a restless farm boy who longed for fast cars and fast women, the boys in BLOOD FOR BLOOD were reared in the projects and their outlaw spirit reflects the callous surroundings from which they were rendered. Blood For Blood are from outside. They stand on the threshold of society with all but a few toes tangling off the edge with a maniacal desperation, longing for sanity. Theirs is a journey from one end of alienation to the other – only to be flung violently back to the hole from which they crawled out of. “I been held down my whole life. This band is my opportunity to spit in society’s face…” says guitar player Rob Lind. Inspired by bands such as Sheer Terror, Breakdown, Carnivore and Raw Deal, Blood For Blood formed as a reaction to the existing heavy music scene in Boston back in 1995. “We couldn’t relate to anything that was going on in Boston at the time,” says vocalist Erick Medina, “We wanted to hear music about the shit we saw and faced everyday. The scene at the time was a fashion show.” Blood For Blood make no mistake about what their talents are – and what talents they lack. They don’t sing. They don’t rap. They don’t dance. They don’t act. And they definitely ain’t too pretty. They are white trash hardcore rock and roll. And they have just begun their invasion of today’s hair-and-nails conscious heavy music scene. Blood For Blood have cultivated a large, and dangerously loyal, fanbase since their inception almost a decade ago. Having toured with such acts as DROPKICK MURPHYS, TERROR, and SICK OF IT ALL, exposing their venom to the nation, the band has left an indelible and hungry mark on the scene. The band has successfully put five recordings under the belt, with four of them having been released through VICTORY RECORDS and having had received countless praise in the press worldwide. Blood For Blood has always garnered real, genuine admiration among their fans as well – fans who have been known to willingly bruise, bleed, and become scarred for them at their notoriously ‘high risk’ live shows.
Musically, few bands can touch the viscously aggressive hardcore/punk rock sound of Blood For Blood which is served up like a platter full of Sheer Terror, Madball, and The Bruisers. Lyrically, Blood For Blood combines the depravity and pain of the world they see outside their door every day with the experiences of their own dead end lives in an outlaw-poetry style that truly affects its listeners in a deep way. “We get letters from dudes in prisons in New York, Boston, Detroit and even Alabama, telling us that our shit (music) gets them through and helps ‘em face another day,” says guitarist Rob Lind. Like Cash playing his outlaw songs to the inmates decades ago, today’s redemption-seeking inmates are turning to the choruses of BLOOD FOR BLOOD for solace in hard times. If you’ve plowed through all your dead ends and need to find friendship in a cold hard world…If loneliness and solitude is all you’ve know and you long to find family when you had none…If rock bottom has ever left you praying under cold street lights…If in your neighborhood, you’ve seen one too many stolen cars drive by, well, then it’s time you raise your fist in the air and join in the outlaw anthems of Blood For Blood.
BLOOD FOR BLOOD‘s last album, ‘Serenity’, was released in May 2004.

From Hossegor to San Vincenzo the long way home

Posted by Salad Days On June - 21 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Daewon X Almost Love Child

In honor of the release of the second Daewon X Almost Love Child shoe, Daewon Song hit the streets of LA and refilmed a good portion of the lines he originally filmed in 1991 for the release of the World Industries classic, Love Child.

Join Daewon in a split screen video experience as he redoes his classic flatground lines trick-for-trick at the same schoolyard spots seen in the original video. Marvel at the difference in pant size and stare in wonder at how much skateboarding has evolved over the last 20 years.

The Love Child days were pretty crazy. I was young and I was going on my first tours. It was my first experience filming for a big video and being around one of the craziest guys in skateboarding, Steve Rocco.” —Daewon Song

Amir x DC Artist Project

“ – Amir

Honor Bright post new track on Myspace

HONOR BRIGHT POST NEW TRACK (‘PAPER THIN WALLS’) ON MYSPACE. ‘ACTION! DRAMA! SUSPENSE!’ OUT JULY 20TH ON TRIPLE CROWN RECORDS

Syracuse, NY’s HONOR BRIGHT has posted a new track off its forthcoming Triple Crown Records release ‘Action! Drama! Suspense!’ on MySpace. ‘Action! Drama! Suspense!’ was produced by former A Day To Remember guitarist Tom Denney and Go Radio front man Jason Lancaster (ex‐Mayday Parade). The album will be released July 20th on Triple Crown Records. To celebrate the release of the album, HONOR BRIGHT will be playing a series of 8 special CD release shows on the East Coast (see below for all tour dates). About HONOR BRIGHT: Honor Bright is a pop punk‐leaning five‐piece rock collective with huge aspirations and a band that’s definitely in it for all the right reasons. You see, rather than try and cash in on the latest trends in order to make a quick buck, Honor Bright are focused on longevity; they want to play music for music’s sake. And from the sound of the band’s previous offering, 2008’s ‘If This Was a Movie’ their forthcoming Triple Crown Records debut, ‘Action! Drama! Suspense!’ is sure to prove that these guys will make every note count. Honor Bright ‐ who’ve drawn comparisons to bands like Taking Back Sunday, Mayday Parade, and All Time Low ‐ began in 2006, following a short‐lived hardcore stint between founding front man Liam DiCosimo and guitarist/vocalist Tim Paige. “We didn’t want to just call it quits, so we decided we were going to start playing the kind of music we grew up listening to, like Green Day and MXPX. Something closer to a pop‐punk sound,” explains DiCosimo. “But, because we all came from rock & roll and hardcore bands, we wanted to still have that rock edge to it.” By the close of 2006, bassist Anthony Merritt, drummer Curt Henry, and guitarist Ryan Gilmore joined the fold, solidifying the band’s lineup. ‘Action! Drama! Suspense!’ was produced by former A Day To Remember guitarist Tom Denney and Go Radio front man Jason Lancaster (ex‐Mayday Parade). The super‐catchy and fun‐filled anthems that flood the new disc are punctuated by the band’s duel‐vocals approach ‐ every member contributes back‐up vocals to the new songs – and crafty songwriting.

“We write our songs more like they’re conversations,” says DiCosimo. “I would say the underlying theme would be the sorts of conversations you’ll have with your friends, your band mates, your girlfriend, ex girlfriend, whatever. We’ve always wanted to make it so the songs could be accessible and people could listen to a song and equate it to their own lives. There are common themes; heartbreak, hanging out with your friends, loving what you do. These are concepts that anyone of any age can identify with.” Honor Bright, who’ve shared the stage with The Maine, From First To Last, and Emarosa’s Jonny Craig, have appeared on MTV’s erstwhile flagship show “TRL” and have been hailed by the media, including Alternative Press (AP) and AMP magazines. AP recently named the group one of it’s “100 Bands You Need To Know” for 2010, which led the band to a prime slot on their South By Southwest showcase as well as a spot on this year’s Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey. While the future is never predictable, Honor Bright can guarantee dedication. They want to be a band people still care about ten years from now, and will continually build upon their crisp, engaging sound. “We will always play music whether Honor Bright is the biggest band on the planet or we’re still doing small clubs just for fun,” says Paige. “Either way, we love playing music. If we can get to the point where every record we can make is more relevant than the last one and to know we’re always progressing, that would make us happy. We will write music we love that kids will be able to relate to and people will be able to relate to and enjoy.”

The Surfin’Lungs italian tour

Posted by Salad Days On June - 19 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

THE SURFIN’ LUNGS kings of surf-pop from UK
