2011 Volcom Pipe Pro Waiting Period Starts – Event on Hold

2011 Volcom Pipe Pro Waiting Period Starts – Event on Hold

The surf at Pipeline has been pumping for days but has slowed down for the time being and we have decided to take a Lei Day for the first day of the waiting period for the 2011 Volcom Pipe Pro. A new pulse of NW swell has been predicted to increase throughout the coming days, so we are looking forward to kicking off the event early this week. Make sure you check out today’s Lei Day show, “Coffee Talk” with Chris Cote at and don’t forget to check back tomorrow for the call at 7:30 am (HST). Make sure you stay tuned to all the action during the event and check out the daily photos and videos, including all the warriors videos that are being uploaded throughout the event.
Volcom is proud to announce that Kalani Chapman has won the 2011 Volcom Wildcard Challenge. Pipeline legends Gerry Lopez (who chimed in via the internet from Canada), Derek and Michael Ho had the final say and they all unanimously voted Kalani as the winner after seeing his best five waves at Pipeline this winter. Kalani will receive the wildcard into the round of 64 for the 2011 Volcom Pipe Pro! There were a lot of really good entries, but in the end no one could match Kalani’s waves. Make sure you keep an eye on the conditions and tune into for the start of the waiting period on January 24th, 2011. Check out Kalani‘s entry, as well as the other top contenders (in no particular order): Kawai Lindo, Ryan Hipwood, JD Irons & Stephen Koehne over at
