Il 30 Ottobre 1985 usciva ‘Spreading The Disease’, secondo album degli Anthrax, considerato uno dei massimi capolavori del thrash metal degli anni ottanta che poneva la formazione accanto a nomi come Metallica, Megadeth e Slayer.

A 30 anni dalla pubblicazione, ‘Spreading The Disease’ esce in una nuova versione DeLuxe. Il doppio CD sarà ripubblicato il 20 Novembre 2015. Prodotto dagli stessi Anthrax insieme a Carl Canedy, ‘Spreading The Disease’ segna l’esordio nella band del cantante Joey Belladonna e del bassista Frank Bello che si uniscono ai tre membri fondatori, il batterista Charlie Benante e i due chitarristi Dan Spitz e Scott Ian. ‘Spreading The Disease’ rappresenta una vera e propria svolta nell’ambito del Metal Rock con il suo mix di metal, punk e hardcore: era nato il thrash metal e gli Anthrax, insieme a Metallica, Slayer e Megadeth, ne erano il cuore pulsante. L’album originale è stato rimasterizzato dal batterista della band Charlie Benante riproponendo nel primo CD i 9 brani dell’album + una versione demo di ‘Medusa’ realizzata dal cantante Joey Belladonna ed un secondo CD che aggiunge 17 bonus tracks con 8 brani registrati dal vivo al Sun Plaza di Tokyo nel 1987 e 9 “rhythm tracks”, versioni “basic” nude e crude con basso/chitarra/batteria senza sovraincisioni; le note bio-discografiche del booklet sono curate da Alex Milas di Metal Hammer.
