Huge Puppies [ska-punk/CH] new album out now

Huge Puppies [ska-punk/CH] new album out now

The mad daddies make (good) ska-punk! ‘Honey Badger’ is a 13-tracks album, mostly composed during quarantine in 2020 and self-produced.

Deprived of rehearsals and concerts, the group has focused its energy on writing in turbo mode, and the result looks that way: the songs are totally in a Westcoast US oriented ska-punk tradition. Grown with Offspring and NOFX, the six musicians equally assume their love for Ska-P and willingly intersperse their syncopations with big distortions. They add powerful and harmonized choirs to their compositions for three voices, which take to the guts. Two clips were made on the sidelines of the release of ‘Honey Badger’. ‘Man Up’, a mid-tempo ska ballad with a heady melody, invites listeners, especially men, to express their emotions. ‘Checkmate’ meanwhile, is a title that evokes the climate emergency. Their distribution is handled by Irascible, and the Huge Puppies have already caught the attention of the great underground rock family worldwide, with interviews on US and Canadian sites and various appearances on British radio stations.

Energetic compositions and crazy brass, which contrast with deeper texts, full of questions
and doubts. All the paradox when you’re 30: you’re still young, but not that much. ‘Honey
Badger’
is the 4th release of the group Huge Puppies. Formed by six musicians around Lausanne, Vevey and Estavayer, the band has already played a hundred concerts in several countries. He shared the stage with big names like Dropkick Murphys, Mad Caddies and Bouncing Souls.
