Little Comets blaze a trail with new single ‘Worry’ – December 12th

Little Comets blaze a trail with new single ‘Worry’ – Out December 12th

Little Comets made their mark at the start of this year with the release of their brilliant debut album ‘In Search of Elusive Little Comets’, making them one of the most exciting new bands to come out of the North East in the last 18 months. These Geordie mavericks have wasted no time delivering their new single ‘Worry’, taken from an upcoming EP due for release through Dirty Hit on December 12th. ‘Worry’ brings with it the Little Comets’ trademark afro-beat swagger; a highly contagious and beautifully unconventional chorus hook, with their usual carefully constructed poetic lyrics, sung with both power and perfection in equal doses. It all comes together to make a heartfelt lament to take the indie clubs by storm.

Little Comets – Worry by Dirty Hit

The EP follows a triumphant 18 months, which has seen the band release their debut album on Dirty Hit last January to critical acclaim and reach a very respectable No.6 on the UK Independent Chart. Little Comets have since spent their summer touring; earning their stripes playing to sold-out crowds in venues across the country. They will hit the road for a headline tour of the UK in April, that will have their legion of fans singing along once again. Kicking off in Glasgow, they then play Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, stopping off at The Scala in London before finishing with Norwich and Brighton. You’d best keep your eye on the sky, as Little Comets plan to make 2012 their own.

THE NEW SINGLE WE’RE SO LIGHT
HOOK & THE TWIN are Marcus Efstratiou and Tom Havelock. Having had two previous singles championed by the likes of Zane Lowe, Rob Da Bank, Steve Lamacq, The Independent and Drowned In Sound, they are set to release new single WE’RE SO LIGHT on December 12th. WE’RE SO LIGHT is the second single from their forthcoming 10-track debut album, to be released early 2012. It was recorded across an array of synthesisers, studios and old buildings around London – culminating in a final dawn session with Andy Ramsay (Stereolab) – and mixed by rising producer Jim Anderson (Anna Calvi, Cold Specks).

Along with previous single ‘Bang Bang Cherry’, the song features in the critically acclaimed indie film WEEKEND, which won this year’s SXSW’s Emerging Visions award among others. It drops in UK cinemas on Nov 4th. Joining Marcus and Tom for live dates will be multi-instrumentalist Peter Roberts from doom-soul troupe Cold Specks – recently seen on Later…with Jools Holland. Forthcoming live dates include The Lexington on November 29th with Tall Ships, and a co-headline show with Citizens at the Electricity Showrooms on December 8th.
