MAKIA WELCOMES HESSU, NEW GLOBAL SALES MANAGER.

MAKIA is proud to announce and welcome Samuli “Hessu” Heino as the new global sales manager. Hessu will be responsible for global sales and will undoubtedly have his hands full, since Makia is growing rapidly and already available in 23 countries worldwide. Hessu’s employment history is strong, consisting of a sales managerial position at Element Skateboards as well as an eight year long sales director position at Fenchurch. When asked what his future vision for MAKIA is, he responded “World domination! It would be really cool if MAKIA could be a globally known and recognised brand in a few years time ”. “Handsome, serious and rough around the edges” – these are the first words that came to Hessu’s mind when asked what MAKIA as a brand means to him. Hessu would like to see Mickey Rourke, the American actor and retired wrestler, in MAKIA’s future catalogue. “Mickey Rourke would suit perfectly well with our next season’s slogan: “Old but still Gold” . “Only problem is we don’t know him that well”- laughs founder, Joni Malmi. Totti Nyberg, the CEO and former sales director of MAKIA says : “Hessu is a strong addition to our existing team. And in the end, his main task is to keep me happy – with good sales.” he jokingly adds. Hessu has recently lived in Hossegor, France, and is soon moving back to Finland with his family.
