Nike Berlin Open Video Highlights
The Nike SB Berlin Open was the third and final stop of the Nike SB European Series 2015.
Located at the Nike SB Shelter in Berlin this was the culmination of a series that took in the Barcelona AM in May and the London AM in June. In the second year of the event the expectation was high and the riders from across the globe that stepped up didn’t disappoint. With an outside screen to cater for the overflow crowd and a DIY ‘Fox Race Track’ side event a high end Qualifiers set the scene for a day Semi and Final. 40 riders who came through to a second day of competition all eager to take some of the €20,000 prize purse. Brazillian Carlos Ribeiro was incredible and a candidate for trick of the day with a switch kick-flip back tail down the hubba. Kevin Backel the winner of Barcelona AM is amazing to watch and stormed the park with his classic do or die attitude – wallrides, big footplants and a 540 out of the quarter into the oversized flatbank. Aurelien Giraud was the top placed qualifier from semis and kept up the level right through to finals turning the judges heads every tick on the way. Consistent, technical, solid execution!
