The winter months might be fast approaching but don’t fear, your happiness will be restored in the knowledge that The Vans Shop Riot 2015 Finals are nearly here!

Year on year the standard and rivalry grows amongst the teams at the Vans Shop Riot, and 2015 has been no exception. Taking in 16 stops across Europe and bringing together over 200 of the continent ‘s best shop teams, the top store team from each leg has earned themselves a place in the finals. Although it’s gone quickly, it has been quite a journey and we’ve seen numerous epic showdowns during the course of the 2015 series. From revisiting some of the favourite parks and spots from previous years, such as Platza Skatepark (Italy), to bringing the sustained heat at Galit skate park (Israel), the cream of European skate shops assembled their finest teams and set out to shred their way across the continent. One of the favourite stops of the series has been ‘La Chopera’ skatepark. Competition was fierce on and off the board with a tug of war battle keeping things heated, while the scenes artistic side was represented through an exhibition using recycled skateboards. Fittingly, this becomes the battleground for the finals, and as such we will bear witness to teams from Tel Aviv to Kracków thrashing it out in what’s set to be an awesome end to another hotly contested series.

Last year’s reigning champs, Burnside bowed out in the qualifiers leaving a new name to be crowned Vans Shop Riot champions 2015. Previous winners back in 2013, Black Sheep (UK) return fighting to reclaim the winning prize, whilst fresh off winning the local Spanish stop at La Chopera, Pandaka will be hotly tipped as well as being the local favourites. With a number of teams already having made the finals in previous years, competition will be fierce with the likes of Streetmarket (Czech Rep), Wallstreet (France), Skate or Die (Poland), Slut Boardshop (Greece) and Twits (Belgium) ready to fight it out amongst the other final 16 competitors. If you’ve had a wild summer and you find your finances have taken a hit, getting to Madrid may seem an impossible task, however do not fear as the whole event will be streamed across laptops, tablets & smartphones. Although many of the finalists will have their Vans off and feet up, we still have the final two teams to be selected to join us in Madrid for the finals. Battling it out first, we have teams from across the Nordics competing today (11.9) in the heart of Gothenburg, Sweden. Following that, the final team to make it through will be from Portugal, as the last stop takes place in the picturesque coastal town of Cascais on the 12th September.
