Volcom Stones Starfish Surf Series Huntington Beach Pier
The VQS kicked of its California portion of the tour on Saturday at Huntington Beach Pier. The weather was perfect all day, the waves were a fun 3-4 feet and the beach was packed with spectators. Over 210 competitors flocked to the beach to get their hands on the cash, prizes and valuable points towards 2012 VQS Champs. It turned out to be an amazing day of fun and craziness, here are some highlights and recap from the day’s shenanigans.
Kei Kobayashi has been doing VQS events almost his entire life and has grown into a full fledged ripper in the Groms Division.
There’s never a shortage of strange things at HB Pier, including Volcom Stones falling from the Sky!
The waves were a fun 3-4 feet all day and made for some ideal air sections!
Lots of stand out surfers in the Squids, Groms and Juniors. Including Griffin Colopinto who won the Grom division and took home a GOPRO!
