Carhartt WIP // Audio Archives: a capsule & global music program
What began in 2008 with Carhartt WIP Radio has evolved into Audio Archives: a global endeavor celebrating the deepening cultural impact of community radio today.
Spanning a capsule collection and worldwide program of radio broadcasts and live events, Audio Archives unites 17 independent community radio stations under one collaborative initiative, amplifying local voices on a global scale. The collection includes a book, graphic long-sleeve t-shirts, a hooded sweatshirt, a record bag and a custom-made teenage engineering OB–4 magic radio.
Teenage Engineering OB-4 Magic Radio Limited Edition
The custom-made teenage engineering OB–4 magic radio is a portable, high-fidelity stereo that supports four listening modes, offering line-in and wireless playback, live radio rewind and scrubbing, and a range of built-in sound manipulation tools. Featuring Audio Archives artwork, this limited-edition version is available exclusively as part of the collection.
Spanning over 1,200 pages, The Audio Archives book presents an extensive archive of Carhartt WIP radio features since 2008, alongside a selection of poster artworks and interviews with 17 independent community stations from across the globe. Accompanying the book is a 7-inch Flexi-disk insert featuring community station soundbites, Carhartt WIP radio introductions and custom idents.
