The first show of the year features Black Rave Culture, the D.C collective composed of James Bangura, Nativesun and Amal.

The trio first connected in 2020 at the height of the global pandemic, as Black Lives Matter protests swept across America, and further afield. During this time, making music became their way of processing grief while navigating the world around them. From these sessions, Black Rave Culture officially formed with a broader mission: to reclaim and celebrate the Black origins of electronic dance music. For this month’s show, they have created an exclusive mix that channels their influences, while incorporating rhythms from Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, and beyond.
