Riffy power pop FFO Matthew Sweet, Superdrag, Cheap Trick. Announce new album ‘Real Music’ due out 10/09 via Same View Records.

Are you ready to get real? New Jersey power pop phenoms have announced their cheekily new album which arrives October 9th from Same View Records (the upstart Baltimore label that introduced the world to Robber Robber, 16 Underground, Cold Mega, and more). LP is eight tracks of loud, catchy rock & roll that’s so elemental, so confident, and so satisfying that you’ll have no choice but to agree that it does in fact deserve its title. Lead single ‘My Rage’ shows off what band do best: a revved up cut of riffy power pop that sounds like Matthew Sweet joining Thin Lizzy, and is sure to please fans of all things loud and catchy. Group have been on a tear since their formation in 2022, racking up three full-lengths and collaborative covers EP in just three years. This new LP takes combo’s core sound and pushes it further into the red. The recording is sharper, the guitar theatrics are wilder, the hooks are bigger–these are the kinds of songs that hit you in the guts and put a smile on your face. Or as bassist Dogmeat evocatively puts it: “So much sh*t is just bullsh*t. ‘Real Music’ blows your d*ck back. I know bands are shy about liking their own music but what’s the point in that? I think our music is f*cking awesome.” Classic Traffic have also announced a run of East Coast tour dates coinciding with the release of ‘Real Music’, see full itinerary below.
