AHEAD OF THE RELEASE OF THEIR PUNKERTON RECORDS DEBUT FULL-LENGTH ALBUM RELEASE ‘THE HORRORS OF ADULTING’, OUT ON JULY 25TH ON PUNKERTON RECORDS.
Rising melodic punk band Lot Lizards is back with ‘Broken Parts’, an emotional, high-energy single set for release on June 6th. This marks the first track off their upcoming full-length debut, ‘The Horrors of Adulting’, arriving July 25th on Punkerton Records.
“‘Broken Parts’ is the punk anthem for anyone coming to terms with the slow breakdown of the people we love, it’s about my father, who is struggling with Parkinson’s disease. It’s heavy and deeply personal, but there’s also catharsis in facing that reality head-on” says frontman Jon Barnes.
Blending melodic hooks with driving rhythms and raw, honest lyricism, song offers listeners a powerful preview of the themes explored in the new album. The record dives into the chaos and disillusionment of growing up—with songs tackling self-destruction (‘Surprise Party’), existential dread (‘Good Intentions’), and the longing to escape (‘Great Escapes’). Group, formed in 2021 in the wake of the pandemic, has been making waves with their infectious sound rooted in 90s and early 2000s punk rock.
