JÉRÉMY FLORÈS AND KAI ODRIOZOLA NECK AND NECK.

The day kicked off with strong performances by local riders Joan Duru & Justin Becret in their home waves. The fourth heat delivered one of the most closely contested battles of the day, between Jérémy Florès and young Basque-German surfer Kai Odriozola. Fully committed from the start of his heat, Jérémy Florès first attempted an impressive layback but was unable to land it. A few minutes later, the Frenchman made perfect use of his local knowledge, catching a sizeable wave on which he executed a powerful roundhouse cutback, earning a 7 point score. Kai Odriozola immediately responded with a huge reverse. The two surfers traded blows wave after wave in an exceptionally tight heat, with Kai ultimately taking the heat’s win.

HUGHIE VAUGHAN AND KASH BROWN EXTEND THEIR LEAD
Already among the standout performers since the start of the Festival, Hughie Vaughan once again made his mark later in the day. The Australian linked together two superb manoeuvres to score 8.33 points — the highest score of the day — further strengthening his team’s position at the top of the overall standings ahead of the final day of competition. In the following heat Kash Brown – winner of the 2026 King of the Groms – underlined the strength of the Australian duo, putting together a string of impressive performances. Hughie Vaughan and Kash Brown therefore finish the penultimate day at the top of the overall standings, with a valuable advantage heading into Sunday’s finale.
