Recollection share new song ‘Lover’s Quarrel’
Members of Haywire, Skinhead, Hammer Bros, and more form new band “hard indie”. FFO: Leatherface, The Chisel, Chubby And The Gang. Debut EP ‘Vivid Dreams’ due out this Friday 11/07 via Pop Wig.
Today the group are sharing one more early preview, the fiery new single. The members of band are all experts at making aggressive music but the six songs on EP prove that they’re also just as skilled with big hooks and big emotions. Song is powered by the bite and urgency or hardcore and Oi! but also packs soaring guitar leads and a massively hooky chorus that will be stuck in your head after one listen. Recorded by Taylor Young (Militarie Gun, Drain, MSPAINT, God’s Hate) at the Pit Recording Studio in Los Angeles, EP is fueled by a palpable sense of loss, friendship, and nostalgia. Over blown-out power chords and chiming leads, vocalist Josh Hynes explores grief, aging, and a longing to stay close to friends, loved ones, and good times. It all makes for fifteen minutes of music that could inspire personal reflection just as effectively as rowdy shout-alongs. Recollection will be making their live debut at For The Children Los Angeles in December, sharing the bill with bands like Trapped Under Ice, Foundation, Madball, and more.
