ROAD TO BAYFEST: TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET BAND UNVEILS ‘POST MORTEM DEPRESSION’

ROAD TO BAYFEST: TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET BAND UNVEILS ‘POST MORTEM DEPRESSION’
Salad Days

ANNOUNCE ‘READY TO ROLL’ LP, PIRATES PRESS RECORDS DEBUT ALBUM ON SEPTEMBER 12. PLAY TONIGHT IN ITALY WITH LAGWAGON AND PERSIANA JONES.

‘Post Mortem Depression’
follows the April release of lead single ‘She’s The Shit’. Songwriter Kody Templeman says of the new single:

“When we came up with the title ‘Post Mortem Depression’ we all had a laugh. The idea of being depressed after you die is just idiotic. By the time I got around to writing the song, my mom had passed away and what was supposed to be a fun silly song inadvertently became kind of somber. It ultimately became a song about death. Dealing with the loss of a loved one and also examining a person’s own mortality. I tried to lighten the mood a bit by including some dumb references to milky eyes and stinking flesh, but it still comes across with some emotion. I guess that’s not a bad thing. I think everyone can relate to some part of the song. It didn’t turn out the way I expected it to, but I’m really happy with the results. Can’t win em all. ENJOY!”

“This time around, there was no big concept, no pressure. We just wrote songs that felt good to play. That freedom brought something fresh. It reminded us why we started doing this in the first place. The vibe is all about reconnecting with the joy of making music together.” explains bassist Miguel Chen. The band returned to The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO, with Andrew Berlin behind the board and Jason Livermore overseeing the final master. “The Blasting Room is like home for us” says Miguel. “Working with Andrew and Jason is always a smooth ride—they know how to pull the best out of us.”

This back to basics approach carries through the album, making it equally satisfying for longtime fans & newcomers alike. “Whether it’s your first TBR album or your tenth” says Miguel. “There’s something here for you.” It’s packed with everything you’d expect from TBR with a few surprises the band think you’ll love – including a couple of songs where Miguel steps up for his first-ever lead vocals! “We’re lucky to still be here, making music with our best friends, and connecting with people who get it” sums up Miguel. “‘Ready To Roll’ is exactly what it sounds like—we’re stoked, and, in a way, we’re just getting started.”
