LA-BASED FUTURE BEATS PRODUCER/3D DESIGNER ROHO SHARES NEW LP ‘MUSCLE MEMORY‘ WATCH ‘TIMEKEEPER’ VISUAL.

LA-based instrumentalist and creative polymath ROHO shares his latest project ‘Muscle Memory’. The 11-track project is his debut LP with ‘Nettwerk’, following 2023 EP ‘Footsteps’, and showcases a knack for worldbuilding through genre-bending instrumentals and tantalizing visuals, all of which he creates himself via the Blender software. While artist’s proud of the new project for containing “some of the most versatile but cohesive instrumentals [he’s] weaved together” he had to crack a few eggs before he arrived at the final product: “I originally had an entirely different tracklist” he reveals, “that I scrapped because it was feeling less and less like me the more I listened to it.” Nodding to the title, he adds: “I tried to lean into my ~muscle memory~ and start tracks with rhythms that felt true to me, and then filled in the pieces after I knew I was working with solid foundations. I rely so heavily on my hands for finger drumming and playing the keys that Muscle Memory felt like a perfect title to symbolize the driving force behind these tracks.” Perhaps most known for his 3D visual work (notable credits include Dreamville, Def Jam, Yussef Dayes and Soulection), ROHO is poised to make a strong name for himself as a beatmaker sooner rather than later; he produced every song on Huey Briss‘ new album ‘Everything And Nothing’ and has more exciting credits to come. On album, he taps in with a who’s who of future soul composers, working with Kiefer And The Kount on ‘Good Reflexes’ and sampling Telemakus on ‘Mind Body’.

‘Muscle Memory’ Tracklist:

Back To Work

After looking through the 3D visual world ROHO created for ‘Muscle Memory’, it’s not hard to see why his design skills are in such high demand. Each metallic yet dreamy animation is hallmarked by a stunning ocean blue hue and a character in a space suit, who he shares is the same spaceman from the ‘Footsteps’ EP videos. “The spaceman has been a visual theme in my work for a long time, mainly because I like to explore unfamiliar scenes/worlds with my visuals, and the suit gives the character the right attire to do that in. Also, I love that the spacesuit can represent a human presence in my work, but in a way that allows anyone to imagine themself in the suit because it hides any specific personal features.”
