‘Voodoo’ is the debut collaboration between Anna Lunoe and Them Jeans. Born last summer in Sydney, the track rides a down-tuned sample twisting every which way through jacking drums and Anna‘s dreamy vocals. ‘Voodoo’ debuted late last year on Anna’s Ministry of Sound mix, and now gets a proper release with Funkin Matt‘s imprint ‘Fjordin’. Remixes vary wildly with Matt‘s own mix taking it to big room meets 303 acid, perfect for the festival crowds, and John Roman‘s deep tribal bass mix is already getting big praise from DJs worldwide. Coincidentally the rest of the remixers are all fellow Aussies, with Bang Gang’s “Wordlife” adding new synth sounds, but keeping the jacking drums and going deeper and darker, ‘Bareback DJ’s’ go even deeper and darker for the 6am classic house set, and newcomers ‘Boy Yucatan’ play off the bouncy vibes of the original for a super fun tropical vibe. This release marks a refreshing take on modern dance music, with remixes for everyone.
