Torche sign to Volcom Entertainment

Miami purveyors of hard rock, TORCHE, have announced the beginning of production on their forthcoming as-of-yet-titled LP today. The band will be self-producing the album in hometown studio, Pinecrust, and delivering the finished recordings to Kurt Ballou of Converge for mixing. Next month, the band will release a limited-edition split 12″ with Part Chimp that will be available at the bands’ recently-announced tour stops and online via Chunklet. The TORCHE side of the split features three Guided By Voices covers. The cover features artwork by the world-renowned sci-fi illustrator Trevor Claxton

Praise For TORCHE
“an absolutely killer rock record– one that’s likely to appeal to listeners into any stripe of heavy music from the past 20 years..” - Pitchfork

Torche are a band who don’t write songs like anyone else… it won’t be surprising if in 15 years some young band on stage starts playing a riff from Meanderthal and the crowd goes nuts.” - Decibel Magazine

“Maybe it’s the bunker-thick wall of sludge, maybe it’s the doomy undertow, or maybe it’s the hair-farming guitar whiz and gay frontman (peace to Judas Priest), but Torche aren’t really a metal band, certainly not the pleasureless Ozzfest kind, not with riffs this gloriously anthemic.” – Spin
