The Netherlands’ best Freestyle BMX rider Tom Van Den Bogaard secretly landed a bizarre BMX trick, called the: 360 quadrupple downside tailwhip.

This makes him the first person in the world to land this trick. Tom Van Den Bogaard (25) from Aarle-Rixte in the Netherlands, is one of the best Dutch BMX riders who has established himself as a successful athlete in Europe.

Normally Tom travels all over the world to compete in the BMX park discipline, but due to the Corona virus this was no longer possible. Sitting at home a lot, Tom came up with the idea to build a gigantic ramp in his backyard and then try a world first: the landing of the 360 quadrupple downside tailwhip.

His journey to greatness was not easy though, Tom had to give up the fight twice due to two hard crashes that knocked him out twice and broke his collarbone in addition to the concussion. This ensured that Tom spent more than a year with this one trick. On October 1, 2021 it was finally hit in at Tom’s home in Barbanter and we can officially say that he is the first person in the world who has landed this trick.

Olympic Games 2024
After ticking off this project form his bucket list, Tom can now fully focus on qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. Partly because of this trick, Tom has a good chance of qualifying as a Dutchman. In any case, it will not be due to Tom‘s perseverance.
