Salad Days

Double Single + Video via Blue Grape Music. New full-length album coming 2027. Upcoming performances: Sick New World (DFW), The Great NOLA Trendkill + Slayer: Reign In Blood 40th Anniversary (CDMX).

They return from what feels like an eternity – today they debut their triumphant and scorching new double single, the first of many to come. Fans have waited nearly a decade for these new tracks – songs that they thought might never come. And yet somehow, despite an improbable build up and truly unfathomable expectations, Power Trip have managed to deliver, again– this time plotting a new course for the future. The next chapter begins now. Songs are the first new recordings of a new era for band in the wake of the passing of Riley Gale in 2020. And despite the challenge of living up to the legend they created in their rearview, with a decade of hard-fought wins, a succession of hugely-attended and high profile tours, and eventually a Grammy nomination, double single charts a bold path forward. Recorded in Carrollton, TX at Empire Sound, the release marks the band’s maiden voyage with uber-producer Jacob Hansen (Arch Enemy, Volbeat, Amon Amarth, The Black Dahlia Murder), who maintains the grit of their previous work while adding a new sheen to the band’s fresh ideas. Power Trip formed in 2008 and is the core quartet of Blake Ibanez, Chris Ulsh, Nick Stewart, Chris Whetzel, along with newly minted vocalist Seth Gilmore who joined in 2023. Throughout the 2010s, the highly influential band helped redefine hardcore and crossover thrash for a new generation of fans thanks to their kinetic live shows and enigmatic frontman Riley Gale (R.I.P). Power Trip released a pair of LPs in 2013’s ‘Manifest Decimation’ and 2017’s ‘Nightmare Logic’ along with various singles, a compilation and a live LP, toured the world several times over, but have remained relatively quiet in recent years, playing sporadic shows and festival dates across the globe. The two songs were produced by Jacob Hansen and co-produced by Blake Ibanez. They arrive via the band’s new label home Blue Grape Music. ‘Precinct 3′ comes with an arresting video directed by Eric Richter. Both singles are available across digital retailers, and will be released as a limited 7” which is available for pre-order on Power Trip and Blue Grape Music’s webstores. There will also be a Record Store Day Black Friday exclusive with alternate artwork available at indie record shops across the country on November 27, 2026, artwork by James Bousema. Group have been working diligently in the studio for over a year now and these singles are a preview into what’s to come on their forthcoming studio album due in Spring of 2027. “Recording worked out really well for us because he has the knowledge of making these big records, but also comes from the late 80’s extreme metal underground” recalls drummer Chris Ulsh. “We’re tough to please because we want something that sounds current, but most importantly we want it to sound like us, however that comes out.”
