Red Bull Bowl Rippers 2019 will take place in Marseille

Red Bull Bowl Rippers 2019 will take place in Marseille
Salad Days

4th edition of the Red Bull Bowl Rippers kicks off! This weekend, the best French and international skaters with the likes of Vincent Matheron (FR), Yndiara Asp (BRE) or Alex Sorgente (USA), will take up residence in Marseille.

For this event, legendary Prado Bowl has been upgraded with brand new extensions to give riders extra lines and possibilities. It will also be the last opportunity to see the world’s best skateboarders in France before their first appearance at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Skateboarding world legends’ favorite playground, the bowl built facing the sea and whose curves are reminiscent of waves, will host, from Friday, Aug 16th till Sunday, Aug 18th, 58 of the best riders in the world – 38 men and 20 women.

The opportunity for Vincent Matheron, who recently got second at the Vans Park Series in Chelles, to leave a mark on the concrete where it all started for him. The kid from Marseille, who proudly rocks the Prado bowl tattooed on his arm, will have to face some serious contenders for the win. Among them, the Americano-Italian Alex Sorgente, 2018 X Games Minneapolis Gold Medallist or former Red Bull Bowl Rippers winner Robin Bolian.

Not to forget on the men’s side, Spain’s Danny Leon, one of today’s best bowl riders, Sweden’s Karl Berglind, a Bronze medallist of the Red Bull Bowl Rippers back in 2017, l’Américain, Chris Russell, aka the “Muscle” and Ivan Federico, winner of the 2019 X Games. On the women’s side, Yndiara Asp, winner of the first-ever Red Bull Bowl Rippers female contest last year, puts her title back into play. The Brasilian who started skating only six years ago will find the 2017 European vice-champion, French ripper Shani Bru, on her path!
