Safe Mind share new single & video ‘Standing On Air’

The collaborative project of Augustus Muller and Cooper B. Handy announce debut album ‘Cutting The Stone’, out July 25, 2025 on digital & vinyl via Nude Club Records (Boy Harsher’s imprint).

The duo return with exciting news following their breakout debut single last fall accompanied by a music video directed by Guy Kozak (album art by Alexander J Rotondo). Augustus Muller is one half of the beloved electronic duo Boy Harsher, a cornerstone in the contemporary goth and electronic scene. Cooper B. Handy is an underground sensation, known for his left-field approach to beatmaking through his solo project LUCY and various collaborative efforts, including The Taxidermist and Club Casualties. Together, they create something entirely new—tender, raw, and emotionally resonant. ‘Standing On Air’ was the first track written as Safe Mind, and became the touchstone for their sound. With Muller‘s light and nostalgic production paired alongside Handy‘s signature motivational vocals, Safe Mind assures their listener that things will be alright. What makes this so effective is the band’s subtle reference to melancholy. The minor key, out-of-tune instrumentals and suggestive lyrics (“celebrating the times we were wrong”) reveal a sliver of something darker. Safe Mind is the comforting embrace of a loved one in hard times or finding a long-lost voicemail from an old friend. They urges you to find the light. In 2020, Muller approached Handy to collaborate on a track for Boy Harsher‘s album, ‘The Runner’ (Original Soundtrack), and the result was the anthemic album standout ‘Autonomy’. Handy‘s outsider take on songwriting proved an unlikely match with Muller‘s neurotic attention to detail and production experience. They took note of their chemistry and continued to casually work on music over the next few years. As the tracks started to accumulate, they acknowledged a shared emphasis on sincerity in the songs they were making and Safe Mind was born. ‘Cutting The Stone’ will be released on digital and vinyl formats on July 25, 2025, via Nude Club. The vinyl edition is exclusively available via Nude Club mail-order and at Safe Mind shows.
