The Art Of Punk

Over The Roofs Of Brooklyn

bivouac

Is it a protest against skyrocketing NYC rents? A social program to house the poor? Noooo, it’s artist Thomas Stevenson’s “Bivouac New York“, a concept art/installation. Inviting a select group to spend their domestic hours in custom-made tents on an undisclosed Brooklyn rooftop “in the great city outdoors, roughing it“, Stevenson’s promising that “the sites are without electricity, internet and shower. It is all about the experience of disconnecting and meeting. That said there is always an indoor toilette“. If you’d like to try, check out Stevenson’s site – after NYC, London and Boston will be next.

The World Of Refuel: Starter Black Label

Starter_3_1381589942

Starter Black Label. Mitchell & Ness. Beck & Hersey. Hall Of Fame. Brooklyn Overkill. Peas And Carrots. If there’s a distribution company with just the perfect fusion of sports clothing and streetwear under its belt, then it must be Refuel. This July sees Refuel Brand Distribution – quickly becoming the known licensee and distributor for iconic streetwear brands – come to Bright to showcase a growing number of exciting brands in Room 112, which actually is the only upstairs room in Bright‘s center-building. One of Refuel‘s very well-known brands sure is Starter Black Label – a premium American athletic brand, which already was established in 1971. Starter stands for vintage, authenticity and sports performance with a huge underground street appeal across Europe. With its rich history of sports collaborations and quality, the brand encourages people to “Look for the Star“, in reference to their iconic logo, seen as the stamp of approval for quality in both – street and sportswear. Find out more about their latest collaborations between July 3rd – July 5th at the latest edition of the Bright tradeshow. Stay tuned for more news about Refuel later this week…
