Edmonton, AB, madhouse punk band Midnight Peg unleashes ‘Thirstland’
Explosive new single premieres ahead of sophomore album ‘Skinning’. For Fans Of: Drug Church, Amyl And The Sniffers, Deftones, GEL, Gouge Away, Exit Order, Turnstile, Control Top, White Lung.
An energetic chimera that kicks off with a pummelling riff à la At the Drive-In, dives into dense breakneck hardcore, and then shifts into jagged OG emo. Polyrhythmic and complex yet accessible, it teeters on the edge of chaos. With 20K+ debut album streams, college radio charting, and praise from DIY Conspiracy, Reverie Mag & Cups N’ Cakes, ‘Thirstland’ is a volatile prelude to their highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Skinning’ due out in October 2025. Recorded by Rob Lawless and Cody Blakely, mixed/co-produced by Cody Blakely (Half Stack Studios), and mastered by Stuart McKillop (Rain City Recorders), song marks a bold new era for a band already turning heads. Hailing from amiskwacîwâskahikan / Edmonton, Midnight Peg is a punk-infused post-hardcore collective built on sweat, distortion, and fierce individuality. Their dynamic live performances have lit up stages at Sled Island, Purple City, Winterruption and Massif, supporting legends like D.O.A. and joining forces with Pussy Riot for a Western Canada tour. Their debut album ‘Horn Colic’ fused the grit of Queercore and Riot Grrrl with the emotional depth of early 2000s post-hardcore. Now, ‘Skinning’ promises to sharpen that sound into something even more explosive—blending subversive melody, experimental noise, and raw power.
