Salad Days

FOUR SONG EP FROM SOCAL SOUL-PUNKS INCLUDE 2 NEW STUDIO TRACKS, 2 LIVE TRACKS.

Los Angeles, CA – October 2026 – The new record from Southern Caliornia soul-punks Suedehead, is out now! The EP is available from Pirates Press Records, and features the bands first two new studio recordings in over a decade, alongside two live recordings. It marks the long-awaited return of this beloved band, with members from a diverse array of bands including Sharp / Shock, The Aggrolites, Hepcat, TSOL. The EP is now streaming on all major platforms as well as Bandcamp! Fans of Suedehead have kept the faith for many years now, and now that faith has paid off, because EP – the first brand new recordings from the Southern California soul-punks in well over a decade – is out now, on all major streaming platforms and everywhere fine soul platters are sold! With the release of their discography collection ‘Constant Frantic Motion’ in 2018, a joint release between Pirates Press Records & Simba Records, fans could be forgiven for thinking the book was being closed on Suedehead. Yet, glimmers of hope persisted. A surprise livestream here. A reminiscence on social media there. Could it be that we hadn’t heard the last of the band? In 2026, we are thrilled to say, unequivocally, that we had not! ‘Let The Song Sell Itself’ featuring two BRAND NEW original songs from the band. Originally formed as a soul-oriented side project by singer, songwriter, and producer Davey Warsop (Sharp/Shock, Beat Union, NOT), when no less a punk rock legend than Mike Ness of Social Distortion heard the demos and asked the band personally to go on tour, it was well and truly time to stop mucking about! Recruiting a diverse all-star band featuring seasoned players whose pedigree ranges from West Coast ska & reggae legends Hepcat & The Aggrolites to deathrock pioneers TSOL, the common denominator was that everyone could play the hell out of these songs! High profile tours, an appearance at Coachella, electrified audiences, a trio of 7” records, and a collection LP (along with a bonus 7” including covers by the Spencer Davis Group (!) and Fugazi (!!), and that was all she wrote for this beloved band. Until today! The brand new songs ‘Let The Song Sell Itself’ & ‘Life At The Top’ are here to fill dance floors all over again, alongside live recordings of fan-favorites ‘I Believe In Love’ & ‘Can’t Stop’ from their triumphant set supporting new wave legends The B-52s! Now the question is: what comes next? New live shows? More songs? Only time will tell, but if Suedehead teaches us anything, it’s that you just can’t keep a great band down! Fans in Europe can order from Coretex Records.
