THE BOLLWEEVILS SHARE NEW SINGLE ‘PREDISPOSITION’
Salad Days

RELEASE THEIR FIRST ALBUM IN OVER 14 YEARS, OUT MAY 5 VIA RED SCARE. ANNOUNCE SHOWS IN CHICAGO, MONTREAL, AND FLORIDA. FFO: RISE AGAINST, NAKED RAYGUN, STRIKE ANYWHERE.

The Bollweevils formed in Chicago back in 1989 and have released music with Dr. Strange, Hopeless, Underdog Records, and more. Fast forward to the present: they released the single ‘Liniment And Tonic’ when they were asked to play Riot Fest, and they share the new video for their track ‘Predisposition’. And in just a few short weeks it’ll be time for the main course, the big kahuna, the whole hog… the full-length! It’s been 14 years since their last album, so they’ve spent ages putting together their best new material. Essential was tracked in their hometown, but they sent it out to The Blasting Room (Descendents, Propagandhi, etc.) to be mixed because they knew they had a hit on their hands. They’re naming the album after themselves because they’re all essential workers: educators, first responders, and of course leading the way is Dr. Daryl Wilson, the most ostentatious Afro-Punk frontman in the Midwest. It’s one big unity song for the punk community and the workin’ stiffs that got us through the pandemic, and everyone is invited to this party.

“I am really excited about our upcoming shows and the release of our new LP. This video is for the first track on the album and it’s called ‘Predisposition’. The song is questioning if we as humans have hate ingrained in our being. I think we are blank slates that are painted by our experiences, and although we all suffer from being stained, it isn’t an inevitability that we must choose to succumb to malice. When we choose the darker paths, it invariably leaves us in a desolate place. You just have to be willing to see the marks on you and then you can work to clean up the blemishes.” – Dr. Daryl Wilson
